The Modern Dance Program

The richly creative Modern Dance Program at Lexington School of Ballet focuses on providing students with the skills and inspiration to choreograph their own dances. Each student is encouraged to develop technical strength, creativity, and versatility as a dancer while working in a cooperative environment. LSB’s Modern Dance classes draw upon the Limon and Horton Techniques while employing a Laban influenced approach to movement improvisation that engages the student in the creative process.

2023-24 Modern Dance Class Schedule

Level I (8-10 yrs) Friday 6:00-7:00 pm
Level II (11-14 yrs) Thursday 5:00-6:00 pm
Level III* Thursday 6:00-7:15 pm

* Must be enrolled in full graded ballet program.

Dancewear Requirements
All levels:

• Leotards: Ballet Rosa Leotard/Isla noir/01

• Black footless tights. No shoes required.
